FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy, and how can it help me?

Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to address emotional, mental, and relational challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, or personal struggles, therapy helps you develop self-awareness, build coping strategies, and create lasting change for a healthier, more balanced life.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

The length of therapy depends on your unique needs and goals. Some people benefit from short-term therapy focused on specific issues, while others may choose longer-term therapy to address deeper patterns or complex challenges. We’ll regularly evaluate your progress and adjust as needed.

What types of therapy do you use?

I use a variety of evidence-based and integrative approaches tailored to meet your unique needs, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A highly effective approach for managing anxiety, depression, and a range of mental health challenges by identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): A values-driven method that encourages emotional flexibility, self-compassion, and living a fulfilling life aligned with your personal goals.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP): The gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety-related disorders, focusing on reducing avoidance behaviors and building resilience.

Mindfulness-Based Techniques: Practical strategies for reducing stress, improving focus, and enhancing emotional regulation by cultivating present-moment awareness.

Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT): A specialized form of therapy for OCD that addresses intrusive thoughts by challenging faulty inferences and promoting rational thinking.

Psychodynamic Therapy: A depth-oriented approach that explores the influence of unconscious patterns, early life experiences, and relationships on your current emotional challenges. This insight-driven therapy fosters self-awareness and long-term emotional growth.

Each approach is selected based on your unique needs and therapy goals, ensuring that we work together in a way that feels both effective and meaningful for you.

Who do you work with as a therapist?

I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults, providing therapy for a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. My approach is client-centered and tailored to meet each person’s unique needs, helping individuals navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and life transitions.

What if I don’t feel comfortable with my therapist?

Your comfort is essential to the success of therapy. If you feel we’re not a good fit, we can discuss your concerns, and I can help you find another provider.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, I offer telehealth sessions for clients located in California. Online therapy is a flexible and convenient way to access support from the comfort of your home.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is a confidential space. Everything you share stays between us, except in rare legal situations (e.g., if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others). I’ll explain these guidelines in our first session so you feel fully informed.

How much do therapy sessions cost?

The cost of therapy varies depending on the type of service and session length. I offer both in-person and online sessions, and I’m happy to discuss fees with you directly during our consultation.

 Do you accept Insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, I’m happy to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt of your sessions—that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. To make the process easier, I also offer the option to submit claims on your behalf through Reimbursify, a service that helps streamline insurance reimbursements for out-of-network therapy.

Is therapy right for me?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or struggling with emotional challenges, therapy can help you gain insight, develop coping skills, and move forward. Whether you’re managing stress, anxiety, OCD, or relationship issues, therapy offers tools for meaningful change.
